Why this directory exists

Autistic family life is interconnected. We wanted a place that could hold the complexity without becoming chaos.

Autistic family life rarely arrives as one problem with one solution. A difficult morning may involve sleep, sensory load, food, communication, time pressure, school expectations, and an exhausted caregiver before the front door opens.

We wanted somewhere that could hold that complexity without turning it into chaos.

Stories matter, but retrieval matters too

Family stories can make a person feel seen. But when it is late, everyone is depleted, and tomorrow contains the same difficult transition, you also need to find the useful paragraph quickly.

That is why Sisuist is organised as a directory. Each entry starts with a real-life need, explains the context, and includes cost, effort, time, limitations, and ways it could be changed.

We are sharing starting points, not instructions for someone else’s child.

A place that can keep growing

No single family can represent autistic experience. We can only document our corner of it carefully, keep listening, and make the structure wide enough for difference.

Over time, this directory can grow from simple routines into communication tools, caregiver systems, financial lessons, AI helper apps, 3D-printed adaptations, tactile printing, and ideas we have not encountered yet.

The subject is not perfection. It is family quality of life and the practical work of protecting it.
